????（產(chǎn)品設(shè)計(jì)）的過(guò)程才是最奇妙的地方,。 ????當(dāng)初我們開(kāi)始做（Mac電腦）時(shí)也是這樣,，我們?cè)?jīng)有很多絕妙的想法。但我一直感覺(jué),，如果一個(gè)團(tuán)隊(duì)是在做他們真正看好的事情,，過(guò)程就像……就像我小時(shí)候。當(dāng)時(shí)我住的那條街上有一位鰥居的老人,。他80多了,，長(zhǎng)相有點(diǎn)嚇人。我對(duì)他稍微有些了解,。我想他可能曾經(jīng)付錢(qián)讓我給他割草坪或其他什么的,。 ????有一天，他對(duì)我說(shuō)：“到我的車庫(kù)去看看吧,，我想給你看些東西,?！彼铣隽艘粋€(gè)布滿灰塵的舊磨石機(jī)。它由一個(gè)馬達(dá),、一個(gè)咖啡罐以及一個(gè)連接的傳動(dòng)帶構(gòu)成,。然后，他說(shuō)：“跟我來(lái),?！蔽覀冏叩搅撕竺妫瑩炝诵┦?。就是那種普普通通,、粗糙難看的石子。我們把石子放進(jìn)那個(gè)罐子,，再倒進(jìn)一些液體和一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)磨石粉,，然后把罐子蓋好。他開(kāi)動(dòng)了馬達(dá),，然后對(duì)我說(shuō)：“我們明天再來(lái)看看,。” ????石子在罐子里轉(zhuǎn)動(dòng),，罐子鐺鐺直響,。 ????第二天我回到那里。我們打開(kāi)罐子,，取出來(lái)的是一些非常光滑的石子,。普通石子放進(jìn)罐子里通過(guò)這樣（他拍手）相互摩擦，有一些小摩擦,，有一點(diǎn)噪音，出來(lái)時(shí)就是這樣光滑的石子,。 ????在我的腦海里,，這個(gè)過(guò)程與一個(gè)團(tuán)隊(duì)在努力地做他們熱愛(ài)的事情是一樣的。團(tuán)隊(duì)這群才華橫溢的人們相互碰撞,，相互爭(zhēng)論,，有時(shí)甚至是爭(zhēng)執(zhí)。這個(gè)過(guò)程中可能會(huì)有一些噪音,，但是大家通過(guò)共同的努力,，相互打磨，而團(tuán)隊(duì)的想法也得到打磨,，最后出來(lái)的就是這些真正光滑,、漂亮的石頭。 ????這部70分鐘的影片定于周三和周四（11月16日和17日）在美國(guó)19個(gè)城市的Landmark Theaters院線上映,。點(diǎn)擊這里了解放映時(shí)間表和預(yù)售票情況,。 |
????And it's that process that is the magic. ????And so we had a lot of great ideas when we started [the Mac]. But what I've always felt that a team of people doing something they really believe in is like is like when I was a young kid there was a widowed man that lived up the street. He was in his eighties. He was a little scary looking. And I got to know him a little bit. I think he may have paid me to mow his lawn or something. ????And one day he said to me, "come on into my garage I want to show you something." And he pulled out this dusty old rock tumbler. It was a motor and a coffee can and a little band between them. And he said, "come on with me." We went out into the back and we got just some rocks. Some regular old ugly rocks. And we put them in the can with a little bit of liquid and little bit of grit powder, and we closed the can up and he turned this motor on and he said, "come back tomorrow." ????And this can was making a racket as the stones went around. ????And I came back the next day, and we opened the can. And we took out these amazingly beautiful polished rocks. The same common stones that had gone in, through rubbing against each other like this (clapping his hands), creating a little bit of friction, creating a little bit of noise, had come out these beautiful polished rocks. ????That's always been in my mind my metaphor for a team working really hard on something they're passionate about. It's that through the team, through that group of incredibly talented people bumping up against each other, having arguments, having fights sometimes, making some noise, and working together they polish each other and they polish the ideas, and what comes out are these really beautiful stones. ????The 70-minute film is being shown in Landmark Theaters in 19 U.S. cities on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 16 and 17.
